Combitech sponsoring female racer as part of its drive to attract more female employees

8 March 2017

One crucial aspect of getting more women involved in technological professions is more female role models. Technology consultancy firm Combitech has therefore decided to sponsor the female racing driver Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, whose technical knowledge of all things racing will inspire more women to work for Combitech.

Combitech's partnership with the STCC's PWR Racing Team stretches back a number of years, and their successful collaboration will continue into the coming year. Now with Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky behind the wheel.

This modest girl hailing from Karlstad has seen success in both Swedish and international racing competitions. Mikaela has previously raced in tournaments such as the Audi TT Cup and ADAC GT Masters, and will drive an Audi RS 3 LMS for PWR Racing.

The car she will be competing in has its roots in the marque's performance model, the Audi RS 3 Sedan, in this instance tuned by Audi Sport to meet the international TCR rules which the STCC is introducing for 2017.

To join up with PWR Racing and the team's main partner Combitech and move up to the STCC is a huge step forward in my career and a fantastic opportunity to develop as a driver. On paper, the team is the strongest in the STCC going into the season and I'm really looking forward to doing what I can for PWR Racing this year.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.

Competing on equal terms

The recruitment of Mikaela, the team's new junior driver, is an important part of our work with equality and our efforts to attract more female employees.

We are extremely happy that Mikaela will represent us and our values during the year. Equality is something we strongly believe in, and by continuing to invest in female drivers in our STCC team, we aim to show that competing on equal terms is both natural and important. And just as with the PWR Racing Team, we aim to support young talents in advancing their careers.

Charlotte Haegermark, Project Manager for the STCC sponsorship.
